ABOUT US
Odds and Ends

Alaska Sister Yarns was born out of a love of natural yarn fibers and inspired by the beautiful surroundings of Alaska, The Last Frontier, more than ten years ago. Alaska Sister Yarns uses only natural fibers, keeping with the idea of beauty found in nature.
Owner and CEO, Sandy Potvin, learned to hand-dye yarns as part of her creative process with fiber arts. An skilled knitter and crocheter, hand-dying to create the colors she wanted was a natural progression. She loves experimenting and finding new colors that will enhance fiber projects for herself and others.
Interested in a specific color or color set? Alaska Sister Yarns also offers custom dyeing for your yarn camps, knit-alongs, crochet-alongs, or other activities.
